In Hayal Pozanti’s free forms, there are slivers of surprise. A touch of citron, a lavender slit, a smudge to expose. A sign of restraint/conscious balance to engage. There are no missing pieces in Pozanti’s puzzles. Each of her shapes graciously covers and is covered by another, it’s entirely fair and beautiful. David Pagel of the LA Times says it well, Hayal’s paintings “will leave you wanting more”. I want more, or at least one in my living room.
